ROB
Dr. Robert McCoppen grew up in Hillsdale, Ontario, a small town 20 minutes north of Barrie. He attended the University of Western Ontario where he graduated with an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology and Immunology and went on to complete his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree with distinction at the University of Western Ontario in 2005. He is an active member of the Canadian Dental Association and enjoys all aspects of family dentistry with
In 2011, Dr. McCoppen moved to Collingwood with his wife and two amazing sons where they enjoy all the great activities offered in the area including skiing, hiking, golfing, kayaking and spending time at the YMCA.

Our Dental Hygienists
Cheryl
Cheryl is a graduate of the Dental Hygiene program at the University of New England, Portland, Maine (1993). She is Board Certified by the American Dental Hygiene Association, as well as Board Certified and Registered by the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario. Cheryl is a member of the Canadian Dental Hygiene Association, CDHA and the Ontario Dental Hygiene Association, ODHA. Cheryl has been fortunate to be in the Dental Hygiene profession for 25 years with many long-term friendships in the offices she has worked in.
Her goal when patients come to the office for their dental scaling appointment is to provide the utmost care and guided therapy to promote positive overall health.
Cheryl has had the pleasure of working with Dr. Rob McCoppen for the past 11 years. She says he is a kind, caring and an amazing dentist to work with.
Cheryl has resided in the Collingwood area since 1989. It is the 4-season resort community lifestyle that gives her the opportunity to enjoy her passions of cycling, scuba diving
Cheryl enjoys traveling to many places in the world. She enjoys learning about people and their culture.
Denise
Denise is a Registered Dental Hygienist who joined our team in 2015. When she isn’t practicing dental hygiene she can be found working in Long-Term Care as a RAI Coordinator.
Denise studied at Laurentian University in Sudbury, Ontario and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Physical and Health Education and a concurrent Certificate in Gerontology. After working for a few years at the Sudbury Police Station, Denise decided to complete her Dental Hygiene Diploma in North Bay, at Canadore College. After graduation in 2009, Denise moved from North Bay and settled in Collingwood.
During her spare time, Denise participates in a number of different actives including: downhill mountain biking, scuba diving, baseball, volleyball, boxing, hockey, skiing, and soccer. New hobbies that Denise has taken interest include standup paddle boarding and riding her Honda Rebel motorcycle.
Front Desk / Dental Assistants
Christina
Christina is a Certified Level II Dental Assistant, graduating with honors in 2007 from Barrie and enjoys being a member of Dr. McCoppen’s Family dental team for over 10 years.
Christina helps in the day-to-day administrative operations of the practice, always welcoming and ready to answer questions regarding your dental treatment, account, insurance benefits questions as well as treatment scheduling/coordinating. Occasionally you will find Christina dental assisting alongside Dr. McCoppen.

Gisele
Gisele graduated as a Certified Dental Assistant Level II in 2014 and has been a part of Dr. McCoppen Family Dental Care since 2017. She really enjoys being a part of a family oriented atmosphere and meeting new people. As she works chair side she strives to make patients feel comfortable by providing the greatest care possible and is a positive addition to the team.
In her spare time Gisele enjoys spending time with her children, family and friends. Other activities that she enjoys include listening to live music and spending time outdoors hiking and camping.
Terrie
Terrie graduated as a Certified Dental Assistant Level II in 2013 from Everest College. She has been a member of Dr. McCoppen’s dental practice since the beginning of 2018 and is a great addition to the team.

Christina’s favourite part of her job is to help facilitate excellent patient services, ensuring our patients get the best in dental care. “I am privileged to work with a group of professionals who are extremely knowledgeable. Our team is strong, caring and positive, and I am thankful to be among a fantastic group of people.”
When not at the office Christina enjoys spending time with her husband, children, family and friends. In her spare time she likes to travel, hike, kayak, standup boarding, biking and volunteering at several local sports clubs and schools.

Terrie’s responsibilities include a combination of working at the front desk and chair side assisting with Dr. McCoppen. Since she started, Terrie has really enjoyed meeting existing patients as well as new patients to the office. She is a proud member or the team and is confident in the treatment and care our patients receive.
